WELCOME TO SOC 320

Sociology of the Body

In SOC 320, we will explore the body from a sociological perspective--that is, we will explore how the body is implicated in social processes, social interaction, and social inequality. Get ready to think about the body in different ways using various sociological perspectives!  By the end of the course, you will hopefully have a new appreciation for the body's role in creating, sustaining, and challenging the social order.

Refer to the Student ePortfolio Resources site for help in getting started with your ePortfolio.

What is an ePortfolio?

An ePortfolio is your place on the web to showcase your academic work during and beyond your time at CUNY SPS.  In this course, we will use ePortfolio to create and display two papers--a short paper on Chris Rock's documentary, "Good Hair," and a content analysis on a movie about work.

If this is your first ePortfolio, you may begin with an overview and instructions, here: http://cunyonline.digication.com/ and here: http://cunyonline.digication.com/studentresource/Home .
