Margaret Kimball: A Self Portrait

              Hello everyone and welcome to my e-portfolio.  My name is Margaret Kimball and I am a 2011 graduate of  the City University of New York's Online Baccalaureate program with a BA in Communications and Culture summa cum laude. I am a Virginia resident with a passion for Asian culture, pop culture, aviation, and history. 

             I love the Internet.  Discovering new ways to take advantage of the medium is a thrilling process as limitless as the World Wide Web!  Through my internet mediated interactions with contacts throughout the world I have become fascinated with the dynamics of communication, especially electronic communications and communication between members of different cultures. 

          It is a joy to interact with children and make an impact on their lives.  I formerly worked part time with after school care and I volunteer with the youth of my church.  This has given me experience teaching and playing with all ages of children, and keeps me up to date on what concerns face today's youth. 

          February 2011, I completed an exciting internship as a travel blogger for Destination Guides.  This was a dream position for me as I am passionate about tourism, cultural enrichment, and my local city of Washington DC.  Visit my "Keeping Updated" page to catch links to my latest travel tips on Twitter. 

         In 2012 I began working as the assistant to the office manager of a DC litigation botique specializing in appeals. It is exciting and challenging work!  I am also thrilled to have the opportunity to employ my passion for communications and culture as the e-board secretary and a volunteer staff member of Kollaboration DC, an organization which aims to assist Asian-American artists and the community by offering "Empowerment through Entertainment".
