Survey Findings:

This question addresses the different level of importance between national security and privacy. Out of the 255 participants, 47 % answered that both were equally important, and 26 % were more concerned with security, while 21 % responded that privacy was more important. Finally, the remaining 11 participants didn’t have an opinion about privacy and national security. These statistics suggest that only half of the participants think both issues matter, while the other half is divided between the level of importance of national security and privacy. This division extends to the different views on legislative surveillance bills.

 Survey Findings:

For this question, out of the 255 participants, 50 % feel that their privacy is being compromised by the NSA surveillance protocol, while only 26 % feel that their information is not being compromised by the NSA surveillance protocol. Finally, the remaining 24 % don’t have an opinion about this matter. This question suggests that a large majority of individuals think that they’re information is at risk due to the current legislation.

Survey findings

In response to this question, out of the 264 survey participants, 44 % are not familiar with the NSA surveillance protocol, while 35 % are only somewhat familiar with it, and only 20 % of the participants are familiar with it. These findings contradicts the previous question where it was asked whether people feel that their privacy is compromised by the NSA surveillance protocols, where almost 50 % felt that it is being compromised, while only 20 % of the same survey participants are suggesting that they are familiar with these protocols. These result contradictions suggest that 30 % of the participants who claimed that their privacy is being compromised are not at all familiar with the NSA surveillance protocols.
