I chose Global Virtual Enterprise as my capstone class because of my interest in all things global.  I love learning and I wanted to know more about how using the internet can enhance an entreperneurs chance of succeeding.  This course is why I am completing an ePortfolio.

Professor Kane wrote in his first announcement, "[BUS 696] Global Virtual Enterprise (VE) is a business simulation where students experience the business world by creating and operating virtual firms and taking virtual products and services to market in the global economy of over 6000 firms in over 40 countries.

Activities include hands-on experience with concept development, business planning, e-commerce, marketing, strategic planning, finance, accounting and management in an interactive and realistic business environment. A portfolio, business plan, company reports and reflective blogs are required.

Unlike a traditional online course, this course uses students’ existing knowledge, supplemented by additional learning drawn from tutorials, independent research, and faculty and student consultants in order to grow the global business.

Like a real business, each student brings a wealth of personal and professional experiences to the table, and the firm is charged with capitalizing on these human resources in order to develop the firm to its maximum potential."
