On July 1, 2006 PCCS opened its doors to the Staten Island community. Supporting adults and children on the autism spectrum or with an intellectual disability. During the first few months, PCCS supported 3 people. My office was located in my living room. I used a cell phone to communicate; the dining room table was my desk and I used a laptop to develop support plans and manage business functions. I was a one person operation. Today, PCCS serves over 400 people and has offices located on the North and South Shores of Staten Island. Over 100 people (disabled and non-disabled) are employed with PCCS and are part of a community which understands the responsibilities we have as human beings. We are responsible for ourselves and for each other.
