About Me

I am a full-time employee at the Graduate Center, Administrative Coordinator for the Wellness Center.  I have been employed here at CUNY for over 4 years.  I've been attending the School of Professional Studies since 2009, this is my third semester.  I am also CUNY alumni (John Jay College, class of 2004).  I am a married mother of two children (Hector, 5 Angelica, 1).  While it is very challenging juggling the many roles I am responsible for, I take pride in figuring out a way to balance my life for the benefit of others and myself.  I have always been passionate about education, and my relentless drive to complete goals that I have set for myself.  This year, my goals are to be more involved and supportive of those missions I feel strongly about. 

 

Statement of Interest

In an effort to fulfill my new goals set for this year, I would like to serve in a capacity that would allow me to draw from my experiences as a student to be an asset in informing the council.  I think my role at the Graduate Center also gives me a unique perspective, in that our center serves the student population.  I have had a wonderful experience with the online degree thus far.  That said, my mindset is always geared toward how things can be improved (both personally and professionally).  I would be happy to contribute my ideas and opinions to further the goals of SPS.
