This paper researches the media coverage of the tenth anniversary commemoration of the September 11th terrorist attack. It is the goal of the research to determine how news sources covered these events. The hypothesis is that the coverage of the 10 year commemoration of 9/11 will differ across media sources.  To confirm or reject this hypothesis news articles were coded across six key categories, then analyzed and results were compared to determine similarities and differences in coverage trends.  What follows is a review of the relevant literature on media coverage and collective memory, as well as the data analysis and results of our study.
