My name is Pai Mai and this is my third semester with CUNY SPS. I am a full-time student and a senior photographer at a studio in Florida, where I live. It's great being able to take courses online even though I'm out-of-state (with in-state tuition)!! During my time off I like to relax by the beach and I have been attempting surfing... key word being attempting. I hope to one day open my own photography studio and show my work to the world!

A little about my cultural heritage... I was born in South Carolina, but I spent a majority of my childhood in South Korea where my father was stationed in the Army. My father is part-Filipino, part-Korean and part-Irish and my mother is Korean -- that makes me... American. My father speaks English, but my mother only knows how to speak Korean. English is a first language for me, but spoken English is still something that I struggle with at times.

I have been a traveling enthusiast since I was a child going from Army base to Army base and when I my father gave me his Canon AE1 Camera I have been trying to capture the beauty of nature ever since! I spent my summer in Iceland shooting pictures for an Icelandic Traveler's Website. You can check out some of my work by viewing my Photography Portfolio

(trying to push up those rigid Icelandic waters)
